Councilmember McCarthy stated that while he will be voting in support of the item because it is in strict compliance with the City Code, he believes that the project is contrary to the city’s goals of promoting mass transit, walkability, and bikability. Vice Mayor Aslan agreed with the comments and appreciated the opportunity to recognize the tension that exists. Councilmember House added that the project was approved back in 2000 when there was no climate emergency declaration, however, it is important to keep the concerns noted by Councilmember McCarthy in mind with all projects. |

Moved by Councilmember Jim McCarthy, seconded by Councilmember Khara House to approve the Final Plat and authorize the Mayor to sign the Final Plat and City/Subdivider Agreement when notified by staff that all documents are ready for signature and recordation. | |||||||
