Councilmember McCarthy indicated that he has concerns about the sidewalk aspect of the project. There was not a strong consensus on the sidewalk within the neighborhood. A citizen’s petition was filed asking for a compromise on the issue and Council did not support it. He will not be supporting the motion on the matter. Councilmember Odegaard expressed support for the project. He noted that projects that were done in the past did not include sidewalks and people were very upset. The community wants multi-modal transportation options and sidewalks provide that. Vice Mayor Shimoni agreed. |
