A | Consideration and Adoption of Resolution No. 2022-61: A resolution adopting the City Council 2023 Commemorative Flag Designations | ||||||
City Clerk Stacy Saltzburg introduced the item and reviewed the requested additions to the 2023 schedule of flags. Kate Wyatt addressed Council and requested that a Human Trafficking Awareness flag be flown in the month of January. Vice Mayor Aslan spoke about the Ukraine request and stated that he supported the addition of the Human Trafficking Awareness flag. Councilmember House noted her support for the Human Trafficking Awareness flag and suggested splitting the month of January with High Tech month. There was brief conversation about the flags for Black History month and Native American Heritage Month. Coordinator for Indigenous Initiatives Rose Toehe shared with Council that efforts were underway to redesign the Native American Heritage Month flag. |
