REQUESTED ACTION:
The applicant on behalf of Dorothy & Robert Best has requested a $20,000 Historic Facade Grant for work associated with preserving a historic home located at 314 W Birch Ave within the Townsite Design Review Overlay and the Townsite National Register District.
NOTE: A $20,000 matching façade grant is for preservation work that rehabilitates conditions that threaten the historic integrity of the home with work performed meeting the Secretary of the Interior Standards of the home’s façades.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve a Level 2 Historic Sign and Façade Grant for $20,000 to support structural roof repairs, repairs to eaves, and painting at 314 W Birch Ave with the condition that the work comply with the US Secretary of the Interior’s Standards & Guidelines for Rehabilitation monitored by the Heritage Preservation Officer.

A Certificate of No Effect for this work was approved on November 6, 2023.
